About The Role

Planet’s Professional Services team helps our Government customers adopt the Planet Platform and rapidly realize return on investment in Planet data and analytics. The Professional Services Federal team is looking for a Solutions Engineer responsible for the implementation, integration, and analysis of new software and data products that extend the Planet Platform and deliver new capabilities to our federal customers. In this role, you will work with multiple internal teams to develop scripts and analyze data products for delivery to end users. You work will be highly visible, directly impacting customers' ability to quickly access Planet's unprecedented datasets, as well as streamline the internal processes for adding new customers to our platform.

What You Bring

Computer science, software/systems engineering or related degree with 5+ years in supporting DoD/IC customers including: specialized, relevant technical experience in the general areas of systems integration and intelligence analysis4-6+ years industry experience working in the DoD/IC spaceFluent in Golang, Python, Postgresql, & React or related technologiesExperience with cloud deployments; GCP, AWS, AzureExperience designing and evolving public-facing APIsExperience with solving complex problems through analytical skillsExperience scaling and maintaining production systems

What Makes You Stand Out

Current TS/SCI ClearanceGEOINT experience, imagery exploitation and analysisExperience in Multi-Domain/Multi-Level Security architectures is highly desiredSystems integrations experience working with multi domain/multi level security architectures with the USG, particularly the DoD/ICWorking knowledge of JavaScript and its mapping libraries (OpenLayers, Leaflet, ArcGIS API for JavaScript), Google Earth Engine and its SDKExperience with RDBMS (PostgreSQL, SQL) and distributed databases (NoSQL)Experience in geopolitics and data science is a plusProven ability to pick up new technologies quicklyExperience with building analytical products from complex datasetsExperience with geospatial technologies and dataExcitement about Planet’s mission

Compensation

The US base salary range for this full-time position at the commencement of employment is $93,420 - $116,730. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives (commission, bonus and equity). The final salary range is determined by job related experience, skills and location. The range displays our typical hiring range for new hire salaries in US locations only. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
