📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Reports to: Management Team
Major Role Description:This is a full-time role for a Controller at Platinum Contracting of Nevada. The Controller will be responsible for overseeing financial accounting activities, budgeting, preparing financial statements, conducting financial analysis, and ensuring compliance with standard accounting standards and regulations. The Controller will also collaborate with cross-functional teams, provide financial guidance, and contribute to strategic decision-making.
Duties and Responsibilities (will be released with experience)1. Perform all monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements including the profit/loss, balance sheet, preparation of Work inProcess (WIP), Backlog and statements of cash flow.2. Manage all Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll and provide guidance as necessary.3. Manage organizational cash flow forecasting by overseeing all financial project accounting; ensure that expenditures areconsistently aligned with project budgets throughout the project period to maximize positive cash flow.4. Provide support to company owners for strategic planning, project budgeting and revenue forecasting.5. Manage the preparation of the annual tax return process by working with the third-party tax accountants.6. Recommend policies and procedures relating to financial and business practices of the company.7. Lead by example with “Hands on” performance of key responsibilities.8. Any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned.9. Time management, critical analysis, and organization skills are highly critical to this multifaceted position.
Requirements:Proficient knowledge of accounting principles and standardsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred but not required)Minimum 5 years experience in financial management, budgeting, and financial analysis, and 3 yearsin construction accountingProficient use of the following Microsoft Office Products:Microsoft WordMicrosoft Excel (extensive knowledge of formulas and formatting)Knowledge of job costing/accounting software (Quickbooks, etc)Excellent writing and editing skillsTask oriented and self-motivatedStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAttention to detail and accuracyAbility to work independently and collaborativelyKnowledge of prevailing wage and labor complianceExcellent systems and reporting skills.Demonstrated ability to resolve accounting issues timely and accurately.Strong analytical and organizational skills. Exceptional attention to detail.Ability to work effectively with all levels of employees.A strong work ethic and a “can-do” attitude.
