📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities

The position of Cash Application Specialist will be based out of our Beaverton, OR location!

Summary

The Cash Application Specialist is responsible for assisting in overseeing the daily operations of the Cash Application team with guidance from management. Will also assist with balancing and maintaining the integrity of the Accounts Receivable asset, prepare reports, analyze data, and ensures proper storage of bank images. The Cash Application Specialist will provide training and mentoring to new hires, and assist with ongoing employee training and development. Helps to foster a team environment which embraces open communications, cooperation, and a positive attitude aimed at striving for continuous improvement and increased efficiency.

What You’ll Do

Provide subject matter expertise, guidance, and assist with mentoring the Cash Applications team for the purpose of achieving daily workload and productivity goalsAssist with new hire and ongoing training for the Cash Application team, focusing on processes, procedures, and performance of key tasksAct as a Team Lead by prioritizing, delegating, and directing work assignments of Cash Applications team membersAssist with reconciliation of Accounts Receivable and Branch accountsComplete write offs and cash receipt corrections as neededDaily and monthly cash and general ledger reconciliationEnsure all adjustments, write offs, and intercompany transfers are completed by month endInterface with the bank and resolve issues related to bank feeds and paymentsEnsure the integrity of the documents by validating they are properly maintained and controlledEnsure daily cash receipts are processed timely and accurately, and deductions are minimizedMonitor untimely applied items and determine root causeProvide accurate reporting to management, including productivity and team performance reportsRegularly report to management all issues that negatively impact the Accounts Receivable teamTroubleshoot and resolve escalated or complex issuesOther duties as assigned

High School or GED 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree preferred in Accounting or Finance3+ years of Cash Applications/Accounts Receivable experience
