FINANCIAL ANALYST

Create business cases and reports for our internal business partners to support decision making and day-to-day operations. Analyze data from various aspects of the business and developing deliverables that leads to a conclusion/hypothesis of root causes and trends.

Participate in the creation of key PowerPoint presentations that are shared with upper management and the Board. Collaborate with partners in FP&A and Business Leaders to support and address business issues. Research and analyze pertinent company, industry, and technical matters. Drive initiatives to enhance the quality and relevance of financial analysis and/or creating efficiency and automation within the FP&A function. Streamline reporting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Drive initiatives to enhance the quality and relevance of financial analysis and reporting.

Develop financial models and analysis to support our business partners and understand impacts of strategy and tactics. Participating in components of the budgeting and forecasting process Preparing deliverables such as daily, weekly, monthly sales and expense analysis

ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS

This position reports to the Manager of FP&A. The position will initially focus on preparing deliverables to our stakeholders and internal customers and gradually evolve to becoming a key business partner to our executives, operators in the field, and restaurant support center. The candidate can expect to have exposure to all areas of our business and develop a wholistic understanding of the restaurant industry and Portillo’s business.

Qualifications

Educational Level/Certifications

Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance CPA, CPA candidate, or MBA preferred

Work Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

2+ years of relevant work experience is preferred. Excellent Microsoft Excel skills. Familiarity with creating Powerpoint presentations. Ability to self-motivate and take responsibility for personal growth and development. Experience with any coding language is a plus. Inquisitive nature that drives the person to think critically, identify issues, and want to find the answer to business issues. Ability to build relationships across cross-functional teams. Clear and concise verbal and written communication.

Travel Requirement

Minimal travel. However, some local travel within the Chicagoland area may be necessary. Flexibility to operate in a hybrid environment with 2-3 days in the office and 2-3 days remote contingent on business needs.
