Director of Accounting

We are seeking a highly experienced and knowledgeable Director of Accounting to lead our accounting team. We are a privately held company working toward improving our processes and policies to reflect that of a public company The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional with a strong background in technical accounting, internal controls, and process improvement. They should have prior experience working for a public company and be adept at managing complex financial operations.

Responsibilities

Oversee all aspects of the company's accounting functions, including financial reporting, general ledger management, and month-end close processesEnsure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirementsLead the implementation and maintenance of effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reportingDrive process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of accounting operationsManage the preparation of financial statementsCoordinate / Manage with external auditors and support audit activitiesProvide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to the accounting teamCollaborate with other departments to support business objectives and initiatives

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferredMinimum of 10 years of progressive experience in accounting, with at least 5 years in a managerial or supervisory rolePrior experience working for a public company and familiarity with SEC reporting requirements preferredStrong technical accounting skills and knowledge of GAAPProven track record of implementing and improving internal controls and processesExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsAdvanced proficiency in accounting software (MS Dynamics) and MS ExcelEffective communication and leadership abilities

Salary DOE: The pay range for this position is $146K-$163K per year; however, base pay may be higher or lower depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This figure does not include additional compensation such as health benefits, vacation, 401k, etc.
