About The Position
This is entry-level professional, technical work, with administrative and technical support responsibilities performed in the Office of Information Technology’s Mobile Device Unit. Incumbent assists with administering all wireless services and devices, including, but not limited to, coordination of requests, provisioning, configuration of devices, troubleshooting, and account administration.
Coordinates activities with Enterprise Architecture divisions, Fiscal Administration, and IT Asset Management group. Provides technical research and assistance to the user agencies; ensures mobile devices are operational and meet the needs of the agencies. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Division Manager and is evaluated in terms of customer service results, completeness, and adherence to policies and procedures.
Upon the satisfactory completion of a one-year probationary period, the entry-level incumbent may be non-competitively promoted to the 2G full performance level at management's discretion.

What You'll Do
Evaluates and recommends wireless products such as smartphones, tablets, mobile broadband devices, and Wi-Fi cards for agency use based upon industry trends, OIT environments, and organizational goals.Works directly with vendors to provision mobile devices and accessories including demo units for testing.Reviews, monitors, and reconciles monthly cellular/wireless bills to resolve any discrepancies and ensure cellular accounts are current to avoid disruption of services.Use wireless carrier account portals to upgrade devices, export reports, activate international data plans, suspend accounts, and add devices per agency requests.Maintains, monitors and processes Cellular/Wireless service request tickets.Continuously develops product knowledge, including new wireless products, pricing plans, promotions, and service features to ensure best suited products for specific needs.Works directly with agency’s cellular/wireless coordinators to develop a plan to implement wireless devices and services.Coordinates all activities involved in the mobile device recycling/buyback program and is the primary interface between agency cellular coordinators and eCycle vendor.Provides policy guidance to agency cellular coordinators on participation in the mobile device recycling/buyback program.Ensures mobile devices have been eradicated, disabled, and documented prior to turnover to E-Cycle vendor.Coordinates the pickup of the devices, as well as reviews and verify the buyback assessment reports from the vendor.Collaborates with OIT fiscal staff to ensure agency receives refund in a timely manner.Serves as liaison with County Agency IT Coordinators to facilitate cellular/wireless services.Works interactively with OIT engineers in understanding the full scope of mobile devices integration with the enterprise applications, establishing recommendations for products and services, troubleshooting issues.Responds to any County needs supporting special events requiring devices including emergency COOP activation.Performs related tasks not included in this position description but are consistent with the occupational parameters and scope of the job classification.

Qualifications
What You'll Need:
Bachelor's Degree in information technology, business or public administration, or a closely related field; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

The incumbent will be required to respond to service calls after normal business hours, or during special operations activities as assigned.
DURATION OF ELIGIBILITY: Candidates will be selected from a temporary register of eligible candidates, which will become effective approximately four (4) weeks after the closing date. Once a selection has been made, the register will expire.
