Job Description
Develop new welding procedures and welding methodsCommunicate with customers regarding welding issuesReview and assign Welding Procedure Specifications for jobsMaintain welder qualifications and test methods for the American Welding Society and Canadian Welding BureauDevelop and publish Welding Procedure Specifications, Procedure Qualification Reports, and Tube-to-Tube Sheet mock-upsReview and accommodate welding specificationsAssist with audits and participate in root cause investigationProvide recommendations for inspection and corrective actionSubmit requisitions for laboratory workSupport to the other departments concerning welding matters
Position Requirements
Must have working knowledge of ASME BPVC Section VIII, Division 1, section IX., AWS D1.1., and strength of materialsAbility to perform basic engineering strength calculationsMust have a basic understanding of welding metallurgy and heat treatmentAbility to arrive at work punctually, work on–site, and work possible overtimeAbility to work cooperatively and respectfully with the public, customers, vendors, employees, and managersPerform multiple tasks concurrently in a fast-paced environment
