Responsibilities

We are seeking a Cardiac Catheterization Technologist internally referred to as our Cath Lab/IR Technologist (Certified) who will operate under the oversight of a physician (either a Cardiologist or Radiologist). The role involves assisting in procedures by scrubbing or monitoring physiological and hemodynamic data relevant to diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures conducted in the cardiovascular lab at Providence Medical Center (Kansas City, KS), a member of Prime Healthcare.

Shift’s Available: Days (9 hour days)

Hours: 7:30am – 5:00pm

Essential Duties And Responsibilities (includes, But Not Limited To)

assist cardiologists during cardiac catheterization procedures, which involve threading catheters through blood vessels to diagnose and treat various heart/cardiovascular conditions ensure that all necessary equipment, including catheters, monitors, and imaging devices, are properly set up and functioning before each procedure help prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process, answering questions, and ensuring they are comfortable and properly positioned on the procedure table during procedures, monitor patients' vital signs, electrocardiograms (EKGs), and hemodynamic data to ensure their safety and provide real-time information to the medical team may scrub in and assist the physician directly during the procedure, handling catheters, guidewires, and other equipment as needed accurately document all aspects of the procedure, including patient information, medications administered, and any complications that arise help transfer patients to recovery areas after the procedure, monitor their condition and provide any necessary post-procedure instructions or assistance participate in quality assurance, quality improvement initiatives and training new staff to ensure that procedures are performed safely and effectively track the par level of all instruments and supplies, and provide support for both invasive and noninvasive cardiac procedures in all capacities for the cardia cath lab other duties and responsibilities maybe assigned depending on department need

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

ARRT-R and license as required by State or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) required Previous experience in a Cardiovascular Lab; preferred Cardiovascular technologist training program with emphasis in invasive cardiology and hemodynamic monitoring preferred BCLS (AHA) required upon hire and maintain current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS); required within 30 days of hire Proficient computer skills
