Laboratory Assistant, Qpex BioPharma, wholly-owned subsidiary of Shionogi Inc. in San Diego, CA.

As a Lab Assistant you will play a vital role in supporting scientific and research activities within Qpex’s research laboratory.

Key Responsibilities

Receive, label and organize samples for analysis.Ensure proper storage and disposal of samples according to protocols.Set up and prepare lab equipment and instruments for experiments and tests; clean and maintain equipment to ensure proper functioning.Clean laboratory glassware.Maintain accurate, detailed and organized records of experiments and results.Assist scientists, researchers or lab staff in conducting experiments, following established procedures and protocols.Prepare buffers, microbiological media and laboratory reagents.Monitor and manage lab supplies, chemicals and reagents.Maintain inventory of chemical samples.Place orders for supplies and maintain stocks of frequently-used items.Maintain up-to-date inventory of chemicals.Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols in the lab; maintain a clean and safe working environment.Perform quality control checks on equipment and instruments.Report any issues or deviations from standard procedures.Communicate effectively with team members, researchers, and other laboratory staff.Conduct basic analyses of samples using laboratory equipment.Identify and troubleshoot minor issues with equipment or experiments.

Qualifications

Associates degree or a relevant certificate in a laboratory science field.Ability to follow protocols and procedures accurately.Strong attention to detail in recording data and conducting experiments.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Working knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel) and database systems.Ability to collaborate with a team and follow instructions.Ability to manage time efficiently and prioritize tasks.Ability to maintain an organized and clean laboratory workspace.Ability to troubleshoot and address minor issues independently.Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures in a laboratory setting.Relevant experience in a laboratory environment, preferred

The base salary range for this full-time position is $50,000 to $65,000 annually. This salary range is an estimate and may vary based on the Company’s compensation practices.
