Caregiver | Nursing Assistant | NAC Minimum RequirementsPrevious experience working with the elderly in a residential or long-term care setting preferred but not requiredAbility to take blood pressure, pulse, respiration, temperature, and O2 Sat or ability to learnMust maintain current CPR/First Aid credentialsMust maintain current Food Handlers credentialsMust maintain annual Continuing Education CreditsMust enjoy working with seniorsAbility to establish effective relationships with residents, family members and team membersMust be able to read, comprehend, write, and speak English to communicate effectively with residents, families, visitors and other team membersProficiency in basic computer skills, including Word and ExcelMust meet all health-related requirements pertaining to state licensureSubject to pre-employment screening TB testing and criminal background check

Caregiver | Nursing Assistant | NAC Essential FunctionsReviews and understands all resident individual service plansAssists residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, transferring, and ambulation, as specified in residents’ individual service plansEngages residents in meaningful conversation and socialization while providing personal care assistanceObserves residents for changes in physical, emotional, mental and social condition, unusual symptoms, accidents, injuries, or unusual occurrences, and reports promptly to a licensed nurse and/or supervisorCompletes all forms to include but not limited to incident reports, and written and computerized documentation, as necessary for communication of resident information with other members of the Resident Care Team and with the licensed nurses, Executive DirectorAssists with resident meal times in dining room, serves meals in accordance with proper serving technique and ensures that food is presented in an attractive manner as neededPost Mortem care carried out by a Med Tech” for a resident who passes away in the community under hospiceMakes resident beds, empties apartment trash, and tidies resident apartment daily and as needed or requestedTurns down resident beds in the evening if requestedChanges resident linens and towels according to community laundry schedule, and as needed or as requestedMaintains resident clothing and closet in a neat and orderly mannerAssists in cleaning walkers, wheelchairs, and other resident equipment, as neededAssists with other housekeeping duties as assigned
