One of the world’s leading proprietary trading firms have an exciting opportunity open for a Senior Network Engineer in their Chicago office.
This role is looking for someone who is a hands-on technical leader searching to make an impact, deliver value and work well within a team environment.
Responsibilities of this Role:Deploy, monitor, troubleshoot and manage our network infrastructureWork on designing new colocations and improving connectivity in existing colocations as well as our Data Center networkIdentify, recommend and implement network system optimisations and focus on network solutions that provide fast informationProvide technical expertise and support to a high frequency trading floor in a competitive market-making environmentEnsure all aspects of our WAN network link together across our global data center presenceContribute to capacity planning and traffic flow optimizationHelp push us towards intelligent automationTackle technical debt while removing complexity
Candidate requirements:Strong network and performance monitoring skills and knowledge of network capacity planningStrong Low-Latency networking experience with a focus on exchange connectivity, taps and aggregation would be highly beneficialExperience working across LAN and global WAN networksCisco and Arista network equipment experience preferredExperience troubleshooting network transport protocols – TCP/UDPDeep understanding and experience with routing protocols (such as OSPF, BGP) and network protocols (such as Multicast, Spanning Tree, HSRP)Network Automation experience with strong Python scripting experience preferred
