Job Summary

Client is growing rapidly, and we are looking for a Citrix engineer, who is a motivated, self-starter that can assist with our virtual desktop infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be proficient in supporting both physical and virtual end-user desktop environments through innovative solutions. Demonstrates a strong drive to take ownership of issues and see them through to resolution. Possesses a keen awareness of emerging technologies that align within our organization. Proactively identifies opportunities for streamlining processes, adding value, and elevating the overall end-user experience. This position requires being present at our corporate downtown Chicago office three days per week.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the installation, maintenance, configuration, security and integrity of computer operating systems and supporting software Will engage in interactive collaboration with personnel at all organizational levels Engage with customers by collaborating through phone, email, messaging, and video conferencing for developing innovative ideas. Communicate effectively with customers as committed, impressing customers with the ability to deliver resolution or status according to that commitment Analyze the experiences of a user and implement solutions that consistently improve user experience Write scripts using PowerShell to automate tasks and extract information from the infrastructure Build VDI images for general use Build VDI images for specific teams and use cases Migrate users to new platforms Create Documentation for delivery

Knowledge

Excellent written and verbal communication skills Must be an adaptable self-starter and work with minimal supervision Must be able to juggle multiple projects and organize time effectively Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Must keep up to date on current technology trends

Required

Skills and Abilities

Experience working with large-scale infrastructure environments Basic understanding of scripting using PowerShell Working knowledge of Windows 10 & 11 Basic understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy Objects, TCP/IP, DNS, Firewalls, etc.) Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Preferred

Experience with Windows management tools such as SCCM and Workspace ONE Experience with Service NOW incidents and requests Working knowledge of certificate management process Experience with tools such as Director, Citrix Studio, and Venafi Familiarity with SysTrack or other monitoring tools

Experience

5+ years of Citrix Virtual Apps or Desktop experience Previous experience in a leadership role is a plus
