📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Job Summary
A Buyer is needed for a company that transports, distributes and generates energy, with diversified assets that include a balance between crude oil and natural gas in the Houston, TX area. This role involves overseeing the procurement process, from reviewing purchase requisitions and interacting with suppliers and stakeholders to releasing purchase orders, ensuring compliance with purchasing procedures.

Responsibilities
Review and process purchase requisitions, ensuring compliance with purchasing procedures and requisition requirements. Submit requests for quotation (RFQs) to approved suppliers/contractors. Liaise with suppliers, contractors, project managers, and other department personnel regarding requisition requirements, procurement procedures, approvals, and order status. Maintain records in accordance with established policies, procedures, and audit guidelines. Cultivate and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders. Release reviewed and approved purchase orders to suppliers. Validate and execute change orders related to materials or services as per stakeholder requirements.
Skills
Basic understanding of supply chain concepts, market conditions, key suppliers, industry knowledge, and materials or services being procured. Effective communication skills within a team environment. Ability to influence stakeholders/customers without authority. Knowledge of Procurement processes/policies such as SOX policies.
Desired Skills: Experience with Oracle Cloud or other ERP buying systems.
Education
University degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Business, Economics, or related field. Previous experience in Supply Chain as a materials/services buyer.
