Principle Supply Chain Planner

Job Summary

A Principle Supply Chain Planner is needed for the world's largest standalone medical technology development company in the Grand Rapids, MI area. This position involves leading the development and implementation of long-term supply chain strategies, managing large projects with autonomy, influencing decision-making, and providing guidance to enhance overall supply chain effectiveness, requiring advanced education and extensive experience.

Responsibilities

Analyze, develop, and implement long-term supply chain strategies and networks to address capacity issues and production location decisions in alignment with business goals. Support business execution of new programs and initiatives including promotional activities, forecast and coordination for key events, new product launches, and network redesigns. Monitor key sales and operations planning performance indicators and cost-to-serve performance data. Coordinate cross-functional work teams to enhance the effectiveness of supply chain initiatives. Act as a mentor to colleagues or direct the work of lower-level professionals. Deliver and/or manage projects assigned, working with stakeholders to achieve desired results. Spend majority of time overseeing projects from design to implementation, adhering to policies, using specialized knowledge and skills acquired through advanced education. Exercise considerable autonomy in managing large projects or processes with limited oversight from managers. Contribute to defining the direction for new products, processes, standards, or operational plans based on business strategy with significant impact on work group results. Manage large projects or processes spanning outside immediate job area. Solve difficult, moderately complex, and undefined problems requiring detailed information gathering, analysis, and investigation. Develop solutions and make moderate to significant improvements independently to enhance job area performance. Communicate with internal and external stakeholders at various levels, representing the organization as a primary contact for specific projects and initiatives. Negotiate with others to reach understanding or agreement and influence decision-making. Provide guidance, coaching, and training to other employees within job area. Manage major/moderately complex projects, involving delegation of work and review of work products, sometimes acting as a team leader.

Requriments

Require mastery of a specialty area and full knowledge of industry practices obtained through advanced education and experience. May have broad knowledge of project management. Require a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
