ResponsibilitiesTreat patients, visitors and coworkers with respect and dignityMaintain confidential informationAttend regularly scheduled staff meetingsParticipate in appropriate health promotion activities as required.Expanded Duties Responsibilities:Selecting and placing the correct matrix bandPlacing & finishing composite resin, amalgam and sedative fillingsPlacing sealantsFabricating temporary restorationsPerform other duties as assigned by the Dental Director.Assist the Dentists and Hygienists in chair side procedures routinely performed done in a General Dentistry practiceResponsible for preparation and setting up of instruments, materials, and equipment necessary for each procedureResponsible for the sterilization of instrumentsResponsible for cleaning and routine maintenance of equipment and work areasInsure the proper disposal of all contaminated or potentially contaminated materials in accordance with the Dental Department policy, Raphael Health Center policy, as well as state and federal regulation/s.Escort the patients to and from dental operatoryTake and develop x-rays as prescribed by the DentistReview/update patient medical/dental history at each visitReview patient charts in preparation for the next day’s scheduleMaintain inventory of dental supplies and materialsOther duties as assigned.

QualificationsHigh school graduate Completion of accredited course in Dental Assisting Current CPR and Radiology certifications requiredWorking knowledge of all aspects of the field of Dental AssistingAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, visitors and coworkersPerform those duties which assist the Dental Director, Dentists and Hygienists in the care and treatment of patientsAbility to manage and complete multiple tasks with consistent detail-oriented accuracyBasic knowledge of office equipment; computer, single-line phone, copier, and fax; basic knowledge of computer applicationsBilingual in Spanish strongly preferred.
