Job Summary

Raytheon is seeking a Systems Engineer to work as part of a team that performs and aids in support of satellite operations activities, providing company-wide systems engineering support. This position is in support of an integral 24/7 Operations environment. Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts and overtime on a regular basis. As such availability for non-scheduled call-in is required and the job assignment requires working a combination of day staff and shift schedules, assigned based on the adaptable needs of the team. Systems Engineers will support operational teams as part of a larger team which utilizes a diverse dynamic workforce, including many experts in their fields.

This position is an onsite role – Near Springfield, Virginia

Responsibilities to Anticipate

Create and/or implement a daily operations plan using complex software and hardware systems. Cross-train in other operational positions as assigned and assist with the training of other personnel on the contract team. Support test activities as necessary.

Basic Qualifications

Typically requires a Bachelor’s in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 2 years of prior engineering experience or equivalent.

Critical thinking toward problem solving in time-critical situations. Follow/implement technical instructions or procedures documents. Technical goals. An active and in-scope TS/SCI with CI Poly U.S. security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

Providing/receiving training to/from a wide range of learning/teaching stylesWindows and UNIX platformPerl, Python, VBA, and/or other scripting languages. Microsoft Office suite

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
