Control Engineer

Job RequirementsThis individual can either be an electrical or controls engineer who would design the controlsystems that we build in Brighton, Michigan as well as program them Client designs and builds material handling and assembly systems from scratch or rework the customer’s older equipmentControl platforms are typically Allen Bradley or Siemens based, however client touchs many other platforms as well This individual would be working with a team consisting of other controls engineers, mechanical engineers, machine builders and electricians all lead by a project managerResponsible for hardware and software design including electrical, pneumatic, PLC, HMI, Drives, etc. for automation systemsDevelop Bills of material for electrical designs as well as update them to reflect any changesCoordinate with project management to ensure that all drawings, bill of materials, manuals, sequence of operation, and PLC, HMI programs, etc. are kept current and correctAttend project kick off meetings including internal and external kick offs, lessons learnedmeetings, project status meetings, etc.Develop and review electrical and fluid drawings, schematics, manualsDesign of PLC Software programs and develop HMI screens to customer specificationsProvide product improvement suggestions and customer feedback to project management

Job QualificationsExperience with 2D AutoCAD and/or AutoCAD Electrical a mustKnowledge of EPLAN is a plusStrong familiarity with Allen Bradley, Siemens PLCs and HMIs. Other PLC, HMI, operating systems are a plus (Mitsubishi, Omron, Modicon/Telemecanique)Familiarity with various drives, robots, welding systems, adhesive dispensing and other current relevant technologies3-5 years’ minimum experience in controls systems engineering preferredB.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer engineering or equivalent work experienceRobot Programming experience is valuedCommon platforms include, but not limited to ABB, Kuka, Fanuc, Yaskawa/Motoman, Nachi, etc.Must be willing to travel approximately 30% in locally and in North America, including Canada and Mexico
