Business Lending Specialist

Location: N.Y. - Multiple Locations - Monroe, Wayne, and Ontario Counties*Shift/Hours: Full-time based on business needs.

General Summary

Reliant Community Federal Credit Union, ranked one of Rochester's top mid-sized companies six years in a row, is seeking a Business Lending Specialist to join our team.

The Business Lending Specialist is responsible for developing and originating business lending at the credit union and achieving defined production goals. This includes working one on one with members and potential members to meet their business lending needs

As a Business Lending Specialist at Reliant, you will:Develops new business leads obtained from referrals and a sales calling plan to generate qualified loan and deposit relationships. Interviews loan applicants to gather information necessary to analyze the loan request and business needs.Serves as the contact point for business clients on all member service issues. Cross-sells products and services that meet their needs. Maintains level of service that promotes referrals from satisfied members. Coordinates marketing efforts with branch staff and Marketing Department, including joint calling activity for referrals with staff who made the referral.Reviews business credit applications and financial statements to determine the borrowing capacity, cash flow, capitalization, and collateral value for the business/borrower. Assists in analysis of financial statements to determine cash flow, liquidity, and trends of the business in order for the credit union to make a sound underwriting decision.Investigates the credit history of the applicant/business which includes but is not limited to credit bureau reports, rating from business creditors and suppliers, and income/employment verification.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge of commercial/business lending and business relationship development activities by possessing experience in commercial credit processing, underwriting, and sales calling activities.Thorough knowledge of all credit union, state and federal policies, procedures and laws regarding lending.Demonstrates flexibility and ability to work in a volume-oriented environment.Work schedule may require evening/weekend hours, business visits, and availability to meet with members at locations convenient to them.Possesses interpersonal skills necessary to resolve complex situations regarding commercial credit situations and needs.

Position Qualifications:5+ years of experience in commercial lending in a financial institution preferred.Knowledge and experience in SBA lending programs desired.High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.

Physical Requirements:Use keyboard, monitor, telephone, and other standard office equipment.Ability to travel within the Credit Union's geographic service area, with a valid NYS driver's license and dependable transportation.
