We have provided high quality re-manufactured diesel and gas engines and components for over 70 years. A family owned and operated company that has grown into the largest independently owned and operated engine re-manufacturer in North America. We have a 1st Shift Warranty at our Company Headquarters, conveniently located off 694 and University Avenue in Fridley, MNSummary:This is an internal position that supports the daily operation of the Warranty department under the supervision of the Warranty Manager. We are looking for someone with a technical background who can disassemble an engine, figure out the root cause of the failure and whether it is a warrantable defect in parts or workmanship or if it is a result of something the end user or their parts caused. There will also be returned parts that need to be inspected to verify their failures. A thorough knowledge of engine diagnostic processes and applicable testing equipment is needed for this position. Basic knowledge of computers, Microsoft programs, and BPCS preferred.Responsibilities:Perform Plant inspections on failed engines to diagnose the root cause of failure and if it is warrantable.Transfer parts into and out of warranty inventory as they are received, and inspections are completed.Inspect returned parts for cause of failure.Work with supply quality technician to ensure failed purchased parts are sent to supplier and received warranty credit.Upload analysis documents and pictures to the warranty claim.Support reclaim process when engines are reclaimable.Work with the Warranty Manager to prioritize the order of inspections.Responsible for initiating claims and handling customer facing communication.All other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Experience in engine repair or a related technical field.Proven experience diagnosing and troubleshooting engine problems.Strong understanding of internal combustion engine principles and operation.Familiarity with various engine types (e.g., gasoline, diesel) is a plus.Experience using diagnostic tools and equipment for engine repairExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate with customers and internal teams.Ability to explain technical information in a clear and understandable way to non-technical customers.Patience and empathy to handle customer concerns and frustrations professionally.Work Environment/Physical demand:Fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing setting. The environment on the shop floor is usually loud, hot and humid in the summer months and involves standing on cement floors with exposure to chemicals and metal particles. PPE required on manufacturing floor at all times.
