Director of Product Development

Revology Cars is hiring a Director of Product Development at the Orlando, Florida facility where we build new Ford-licensed reproduction 1965-68 Mustang and Shelby GT automobiles. To be successful in this role, the candidate must have experience leading a diverse team of experienced and apprentice automotive design engineers at an OEM.

ABOUT THE JOB

The Director of Product Development will oversee all aspects of vehicle development throughout the entire product development lifecycle, from concept to production.

Key responsibilities include

Lead and inspire a diverse cross-functional team of employee and subcontractor engineers, designers, and technicians.Develop employee career planning and training plans, coach and mentor employees.Develop strategies for and implement people, product and process robustness and continuous improvement methodologies.Develop and manage the budget and timelines for product development projects, ensuring optional resource utilization and timely and cost-effective product delivery.Regularly communicate project status, challenges, and successes to executive leadership and other stakeholders. Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.Establish and maintain rigorous quality standards for products, ensuring they meet or exceed industry benchmarks.Implement testing, engineering verification and production validation processes to guarantee product quality and reliability.Drive a 'design for assembly' and customer-focused culture within the product development organization.Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising product quality and reliability.Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation in product development.Stay informed about and ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards and work closely with legal and regulatory affairs teams to navigate and adhere to relevant guidelines.

REQUIREMENTS

BS in engineering is required, MS preferred.Minimum 10 years of OEM experience in automotive engineering and product development.Strong engineering background with practical and theoretical knowledge of automotive vehicles and systems.High familiarity with systems engineering and trade-off methodologies.Proven leadership and team management skills.Ability to effectively communicate and interact with company and external personnel.Self-starter with ability to prioritize and be comfortable with multiple and highly flexible job tasks.Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.Knowledge and use of APQP process, Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.Familiarity with Catia V5, VXelements, and Geomagic Design X and Control X.

PAY AND BENEFITS
