Position Summary

The Facilities Maintenance Manager provides leadership and directs strategy for the maintenance efforts in support of a facility or multiple facilities. This position improves asset utilization and uptime by implementing proven professional maintenance and reliability improvement processes. The Facilities Maintenance Manager develops and maintains preventive/predictive maintenance programs inclusive of failure and root cause analysis for a facility or facilities.

Position Responsibilities May Include, But Not Limited To

Ensure compliance with all maintenance company policies and proceduresManage the facility maintenance team including hiring, supervising, professional development and offering continuous educational opportunities on technical advancements, automation and controlsManage third-party contractors along with company contractor management programEnsure all equipment, building and grounds are maintained and operational up to company standards including landscaping, snow removal, fire suppression, fire alarms, heating systems, plumbing, HVAC, ammonia, Automated Storage Retrieval System (if applicable), etc.Ensure safety needs are given a top priority i.e., Arc Flash/electrical safety, confined space entry, hazardous materials, hand tool safe use, etc., .and supports Lock Out Tag Out executionEnsure responsive and proactive maintenance support to all facility customersEnsure service calls and machinery repairs are completed in a timely mannerOversee facility budgeting, including all Maintenance and Repair cost centers, building, parts, outside services, and departmental laborManage facility capital projectsSeek methods to reduce utility consumptionAssist and support mechanics with machine troubleshooting and technical expertiseChampion and drive reduction of losses through breakdown analysis and other appropriate continuous improvement toolsOversee all parts acquisition activitiesMaintain a compliant stockroom operation that provides repair parts for critical process equipment as well as necessary consumables for the facilityParticipate in and support the Environment Health, Safety (EHS) Program as well as weekly safety meetings, shop safety inspections, enforcement of lock-out/tag-out program and all other Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulationsOther projects or duties as assigned

Required Skills And Experience

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technical field or other related degree with 5 plus years of technical, mechanical, maintenance or engineering experience and 4 plus years of people leadership experience or HS Diploma/GED with 8 plus years of technical mechanical, maintenance, or engineering experience and 5 plus years of people leadership experienceStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work with all levels of an organizationWorking knowledge of Automation and Controls Systems if applicableFacility maintenance experienceExperience with ammonia process safety managementExperienced in boiler operations and their maintenance and repairExperienced with HVAC and fire protection systems and their maintenance and repairWorking knowledge of air compressors, cooling tower operations and plumbingWorking knowledge of high voltage and low voltage electrical systemsWorking knowledge in wastewater operations and maintenance if applicableISO or other management system experienceExperience managing third-party contractorsBudgeting and capital planning experienceProject management experienceTravel up to 20%This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test

Preferred Skills And Experience

Master’s degreeComputerized Maintenance Management System experienceExperience with Lean or Six SigmaWorking knowledge of national, state, and local regulatory requirements in the areas of food safety, safety, environment and emergency managementWorking knowledge of basic elements of Good Manufacturing Practices in a manufacturing environment
