Project Accountant/Accounts Payable

We offer a dynamic work environment where employees are exposed to various aspects of accounting and finance.Opportunity Overview: We are seeking a well-rounded, self-motivated individual to join our team as a Project Accountant. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing financial processes related to our construction projects, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting.Essential Duties:• Review subcontractors' pay applications, ensuring compliance with lien waivers, insurance certificates, and monitoring preliminary notices.• Process and review invoices, inputting financial information such as purchase orders, project IDs, and cost codes/expense accounts.• Coordinate closely with the construction team to clear purchase order match exceptions, identify invoices requiring further action, and collaborate with various team members.• Set up new vendors in the accounting system.• Review vendor statements, investigating any discrepancies.• Review project budgets and construction status.• Produce timely and accurate monthly draw applications.• Coordinate check runs and ensure timely payments.• Prepare and track subcontractor/supplier lien releases. • Process various corporate level accounts payable and posting of intercompany accounts.• Coordinate check runs and ensure timely payments.Requirements/Preferred Skills:• Prior construction accounting and loan draw experience preferred.• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.• Prior experience in utilizing construction accounting software preferred.• Detail-oriented, organized, and customer-oriented.• Effective verbal and written communication skills.• Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a high-volume team environment.• Fundamental knowledge of GAAP.• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, knowledge of Word, and Adobe Acrobat.• Ability to work collaboratively with different levels of internal and external associates.
