You will play a pivotal role in managing the procurement process for essential goods and services necessary for production and operational activities. Beyond facilitating procurement projects, this role involves evaluating supplier performance, assessing total cost of ownership, and ensuring supply chain continuity. You will utilize your exceptional negotiation skills to contribute to optimizing key metrics including lead-time, quality, and cost reduction across department-wide expenditures exceeding $300M. To be successful in this role you must be strategic and have experience driving cost savings, supplier performance and risk management, and performed competitive bidding. Commodity Buyer II (Indirect Purchasing exp req) Responsibilities
- Coordinate end-to-end procurement process for production equipment• Act as primary contact for the Operations department and lead sourcing• Present sourcing decisions to upper management clearly and concisely• Analyze market trends, mitigate risks, and develop competent suppliers• Negotiate and manage contracts, focusing on key terms and conditions• Lead cross-functional sourcing teams and champion Purchasing policies and procedures• Proactively seek cost savings and resolve complex supplier issues• Visit supplier locations as needed to negotiate, review operations, and ensure quality• Maintain records and documentation• Perform supplier market analysis and contribute to global purchasing strategies
