Our client in the manufacturing industry is looking for a highly motivated Indirect Purchasing IT Commodity Buyer III to join their team. You will be responsible for providing procurement project support and will be involved in analyzing supplier performance, total cost of ownership, and driving continuity in the supply chain. The ideal candidate will have a documented track record of successfully negotiating complex, high-dollar contracts for products or services. To be successful, you must be able to plan, organize, and analyze data to build recommendations on sourcing strategies with implications for vendor selection, contract terms, and negotiating position. Commodity Buyer III (Indirect Purchasing exp req) Responsibilities
- Coordinate the end-to-end process for IT hardware, software, and services procurement• Act as the key contact for the IT department and as the sourcing team lead • Present sourcing results and decisions to upper-level management/executives• Analyze the market for assigned commoditie• Track price indexes, forecast future supplier market trends, and mitigate supply chain risks• Research and develop competent suppliers of high-quality products and services• Lead the negotiating, redlining, and managing contracts across assigned commodities• Lead cross-functional sourcing teams for RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs • Proactively seek out consistent cost savings results • Visit supplier locations as needed• Perform continued supplier market analysis• Continue to drive innovative process improvements and efficiencies within the purchasing role• Guide other buyers on projects and best practices
Commodity Buyer III (Indirect Purchasing exp req) Qualifications • 7+ years of related strategic sourcing experience required• 3+ years of indirect purchasing experience required• Experience negotiating complex, high-dollar contracts for products or services required• Highly refined negotiating skills
