Cost & Reporting Accountant

Onsite presence at our global headquarters in Rice Lake, Wisconsin, required.

We are seeking a Cost & Reporting Accountant to join our Accounting team.

Reporting to the Cost & Analysis Manager, the Cost & Reporting Accountant is responsible for the cost accounting function and ensures product costing is accurate and timely. This position performs operational and financial analysis, supports month-end close process and prepares financial statements for multiple business entities.

Other duties include, but are not limited to

Recommends, develops, and implements cost accounting procedures and controls. Identify problems with existing procedures and work with other departments to correct them. Participates in the process for newly created part numbers. Update costs for both purchased and manufactured parts. Review the costs to ensure accuracy. Determines and maintain standard labor rates by work center. Review and update labor and material costs annually for all parts. Updates existing part number costs for material, labor and outplant as requested by Purchasing and Engineering. Monitors changes in inventory valuation to ensure costing transactions are operating correctly. Produces monthly reporting on inventory turns and review obsolete inventory and calculate the reserve as needed. Reviews all ECOs to account for cost changes due to updates in BOM’s. Develops operational and financial reports and analysis for multiple business units. Prepares monthly general ledger entries and reconciliation schedules. Assists with year-end close and prepare audit schedules.

Education And Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field. Two (2) or more years cost accounting experience. One (1) or more years working with confidential information. Experience with manufacturing standard costing systems.

Skills And Abilities

Strong business arithmetic and mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and percentages). Strong personal computer skills including Word and Excel. Strong mainframe computer skills. Strong problem solving skills. Good interpersonal skills. Good verbal and written communication skills. Able to work well with others in a rapidly changing, multiple-deadline environment.
