PLC Troubleshooting & Repair Experience Required.

Robotic maintenance experience required.

Casting Experience Preferred.

Must be able to work any shift $26.88 – 36.45 per hour DOE Onsite only, no remote

PURPOSE OF POSITION

To troubleshoot systems and perform preventive and predictive maintenance on various

equipment, while always keeping safety as a priority. Will also provide support for

production and carry out the assignments and responsibilities given to them by the

casting department maintenance supervisors and team leaders.

RESPONSIBILITY AND AUTHORITY

Maintain, troubleshoot, and provide continuous improvement suggestions

resulting in minimal downtime of manufacturing equipment in the casting area. Support

installation and modification of equipment to ensure quality control requirements are met

and process enhancements are realized while creating a safe and healthful work place.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITIONS

Follow and enforce all plant safety rules and policies. Understand and promote company philosophies Follow and comply with all plant safety standards including LOTO Troubleshooting, diagnosis and repair of various manufacturing equipment,

including PLC, HMI’s, Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, Robots, etc.

Support continuous improvement, lean manufacturing processes and root cause

repair.

Effective communication with team members and other departments. I.E. Down

time reports VIA email and shop logics.

Maintain integrity of safety devices including light curtains, safety gates, barriers,

e-stops, guarding & fencing, etc.

Assist in design and installation of new/improved manufacturing equipment,

components, and processes

Make modifications to existing equipment as required. Assist in determining spare parts requirements Maintain accurate documentation Train operators and new team members on processes, TPM, PM, control panels,

etc.

Assist employees with running lines, and how to use SOP, TWI, SW. Provide support for machine improvements. Ensure equipment meets NEC, OSHA, RIA, and Magna regulations Perform PM inspections as required, document issues and complete repairs Disassemble defective equipment as well as replaces defective parts, electrical,

mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, etc.

May specialize in repairing specific manufacturing equipment, and equipment that

is not specific to the manufacturing process.

Use computerized or manual maintenance information systems to document the

details of equipment related issues, repairs made, preventative and predictive

maintenance measures taken, etc.

Use computerize or manual systems to facilitate root cause analysis for failures

resulting in major downtime (as defined by management). Once the root cause

has been identified, put measurements in place that will prevent reoccurrence

within the affected business unit, as well as across the facility.

Interface with all necessary production associates, production supervision, etc.,

to ensure issues are identified and resolved. In general, communicate with the

production team. Report and complete production leadership give tasks.

Minimize downtime by effective use of resources including response time,

technical expertise, tools, spare parts and external contacts.

Promote, monitor and maintain good housekeeping (5S) Working past shift end to complete tasks, breakdowns, improvements and pass

off necessary communication to leadership and or team members is required.

Perform other duties as required.

awkward areas to complete a task or break down.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Some of the physical demands for the position include being able to lift a

weight of 50 pounds; frequent bending, stooping and stretching; being able

to stand for prolonged periods of time; and ability to walk for prolonged

periods of time.

EQUIPMENT / TOOLS USED

Some of the equipment and tools used are a multi-meter, basic hand tools, punch tools,

Oscilloscope, laptop/PC, AMP probe, Mega ohm meter, MIG & Stick Welder, 5’s.

EDUCATION

High School Diploma or GED required; 2-year degree from a technical college or minimum of

three years on-the-job training with heavy industrial manufacturing facility in skilled trade

capacity.

MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN-General knowledge of industrial maintenance with an emphasis

on electrical, mechanical, robotics, or controls application

OTHER: Journeyman Certification preferred

Work Experience Multi Craft Maintenance Techician

Maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

Minimum of 4 years

HOW IS THE POSITION RELEVANT TO ACHIEVING QUALITY OBJECTIVES?

The Casting Multi-craft Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, preventive maintenance

and predictive maintenance required to ensure that equipment produces consistent quality parts.

The technician is also required to monitor and provide information on their assigned equipment

for improvement of throughput and quality, while creating a safe and healthful work place.
