How would your day look like?Position Overview: The Development Coordinator will work closely with the Director of Development to steward individual and institutional donors by preparing of proposals and reports, planning events, processing contributions, and generating acknowledgements, and managing active and engaging external communications, including RGCDC’s social media presence.
How would you contribute?Responsibilities: The Development Coordinator reports to the Director of Development, in the absence of the Development Manager. Its primary responsibility is to support the Development Department in implementing the organizational strategy to raise vital funds by properly communicating the organization’s purpose, strategy, and accomplishments.
Primary responsibilities, in addition to any other support services deemed fit for the position, are grouped into two main areas
Fundraising:Managing institutional grant calendar, including proposal and reporting deadlines, to ensure adequate time for internal reviews and timely submissions,Conducting research on prospective funders as directed,Collaborating across RGCDC departments to gather and analyze program data for the preparation of reports for public funders, including federal, state, and local entities, as well as private funders,Assisting with the preparation of narrative proposals and reports for public funders, including federal, state, and local entities, as well as private funders, while adhering to their specific guidelines,Supporting RGCDC cultivation and special events, including coordination advance and day-of event logistics and management of all event-related communications,Processing all contributions, including entering gifts into CRM platform, notifying staff as appropriate, and issuing timely acknowledgement letters,Communications:Collaborate across departments to create content for social media channels including Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn, for approval,Managing social media accounts, including ensuring brand alignment and timely posting according to the communications calendar,Drafting e-mails and other external constituent communications in an email marketing platform and sending upon approval, andSupporting outreach to and coordination with journalists, podcasters, and other press for potential announcements and coverage,
Other tasks as assigned and necessary for the well-being of the organization

Educational Requirements:Must have a bachelor’s degree in communication or related field, or in place of a degree, at least 4 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.Hard skills requirements:Professional level verbal and written communications skills are required,Must have proficient computer skills (i.e., MS office, Google suite, Adobe, and CRM software). This position is safety sensitive due to driving requirements, so medical and recreational marijuana are not considered exemptions to our drug testing program,Must have a reliable smartphone,Must be able to travel as needed, andMust have flexibility to work outside of regular work hours, which may include weekends.
What would be your compensation?Commitment: Compensation ranges between $21.63 and $26.44 hourly depending on experience. Typically, the starting salary falls within the lower quartile of the range. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including 100% coverage for medical, vision, dental, short- and long-term disability, and life insurance; 40 hours of paid vacation in the first year (80 hours thereafter), up to 64 hours of paid sick time per year based on hours worked, and 5 additional annual paid holidays (in addition to the 10 observed holidays). Additionally, we provide access to approved professional development opportunities, including educational training and services offered by the RGCDC free of charge.
