Instructional Coach - Lower School

River Oaks Baptist School is seeking a dynamic and innovative educator to join our team as a lower school instructional coach for grades 3 - 4 beginning August 2024. This role encompasses coaching teachers; managing curriculum and instruction across all content areas; assessing data; and coordinating budgets, supplies, and schedules. All lower school faculty are supported by an experienced divisional team devoted to developing both students and faculty, including a counselor, learning specialists, reading specialists, an assistant division head, and a division head. ResponsibilitiesDevelop and update grade-level scope and sequence and curriculum in all content areas in collaboration with classroom teachersResearch, model, and share curricular best practices by evaluating innovations and facilitating the appropriate use of technology in the classroomMonitor, evaluate, and enhance instruction by remaining current in instructional best practices and ensuring they are utilized in the classroomBuild strong, collaborative relationships with colleagues across all levels and divisionsObserve classrooms to evaluate curriculums and strategies and report summary of visits to division headCoordinate resources such as budgets and supplies Support professional growth by determining needs, suggesting opportunities, and providing professional development during in-service days, divisional meetings, and parent association meetings Actively participate in grade-level, divisional, and all-school team meetings Develop and practice cultural competence in your teaching and teamworkCommunicate effectively with parents and colleagues, both verbally and in writingWork with the Communications Office to ensure academic descriptions in all marketing materials are currentEmbrace lifelong learning and a growth mindset for adults and students alikeDemonstrate enthusiasm, energy, initiative, and self-reflectionDelight in teaching children in the elementary classroom
