Architectural Drafter
📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
This position will report to a Principal or designee level staff member within our Engineering division and will involve a variety of general functions, including but not limited to:
Draft design concepts working from limited or general information provided by a professional engineer, or supervisor. Draft design concepts working from photos and field notes provided by team members. Correlate, interpret, and modify data to bridge gaps that occur when working with limited or general informationApply CAD software for design/drawings.Understand and develop designs from field notes. Reproduce drawing and document packages to fulfill contractual obligationsUpload, access, store, and retrieve data in accordance with Company polices and procedures.Assume responsibility for the quality of work submittedReview designs and documents before submitting them to the next review levelResponsible for proper quality assurance and quality control on projects in accordance with the Quality Program to ensure projects meet Company, industry, and client standards and expectationsAdhere to project deadlines and keep the Supervising Engineer or Project Manager informed of any difficulties encountered on assignmentsSubmit work for quality review on time and in a complete format
QualificationsExperience handling projects of varying sizes and interfacing with engineers, project managers and various levels of company staff and clients. Background in roofing and waterproofing systems, and knowledge of building materials, field investigation methods, and related codes and standards are considered an asset. 2-5 years of technical experience with the roofing and waterproofing industryDegree in architecture, construction management, engineering technology, building science or a related field preferredExcellent technical, written, and verbal communication skillsTakes independent initiative. Works proactively in solving problems.Ability to work in the field and to travel outside local area as required by workload and project commitments.
Salary: Competitive and generally exceeds national average (dependent upon experience and capabilities)
