The Safety Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the implementation of loss controls systems and safety programs designed to prevent accidents and harm to personnel, property, and general public.

In this role, you'll be utilizing your safety compliance and construction standard knowledge to provide the following support:

Manage and maintain current Employee Safety files.Keep safety training and certificate log up to date.Participate in monthly Safety Committee Meetings.Ensure compliance with the company’s guideline and those set by Federal and State agencies.Ability to develop and deliver safety training.Perform periodic jobsite inspections and prepare observation reports.File all reports in a timely manner. See that corrective action is taken immediately.Assists in the preparation and maintenance of specific project safety, health, and environmental procedures and policies.Assist with Job Specific Safety Plan’s to include all hazards / tasks required to meet project safety guidelines / requirements.Motivate employees to follow safety culture.A proactive approach to maintaining zero injuries in the workplace.Maintain safety credentials (Certified Health and Safety Technician (CHST), OSHA30, HAZWOPER 40, etc).

Preferred Qualifications

Must have working knowledge of OSHA Regulations and other Construction Industry Safety standards.Effectively be able to communicate safety and health hazards to all.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.5+ years of experience in the area of construction safety.Hands-on experience with Windows, Excel, and Word.Bilingual – English and Spanish, preferred.A minimum of OSHA 30-hour training, First Aid/CPR/and AED trainingDemonstrated knowledge of safety/environmental principles and techniques is required.In addition, achievement of CHST is required within two years of appointment to this position.Demonstrated management, leadership, and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing and train others.Demonstrated computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office suite programs.Performing this job requires use of hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, sit, talk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
