📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Analyst to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a solid understanding of accounting principles. The Accounts Receivable Analyst will play a crucial role in managing our receivables, ensuring accuracy in billing and collections, and optimizing cash flow for the organization. This is a full-time permanent role and is 5 days in office in Queens, NYC.
Responsibilities:Billing and Invoicing: Generate accurate and timely invoices for customers based on sales contracts, purchase orders, or other agreements. Ensure invoices are properly coded, approved, and distributed according to company policies.Accounts Receivable Management: Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and follow up on overdue invoices promptly. Work closely with customers to resolve billing discrepancies, disputes, and payment issues. Maintain accurate records of collections activities and communicate effectively with internal stakeholders.Cash Application: Process incoming payments from customers accurately and efficiently. Reconcile payments received with outstanding invoices and apply credits or adjustments as necessary. Investigate and resolve any discrepancies between payments and invoices.Credit Management: Evaluate customer creditworthiness and establish appropriate credit limits in collaboration with the credit department. Monitor customer credit accounts and recommend adjustments to credit terms or limits as needed. Review and analyze credit risk for new and existing customers.Reporting and Analysis: Prepare regular reports on accounts receivable status, including aging analysis, cash flow forecasts, and collection performance metrics. Analyze trends and identify opportunities for process improvements or risk mitigation strategies.Process Improvement: Continuously assess and streamline accounts receivable processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness. Identify areas for automation or system enhancements to optimize receivables management workflows.Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, customer service, and finance, to resolve issues related to accounts receivable and ensure alignment on billing and collection processes. Provide support and guidance to internal stakeholders on accounts receivable policies and procedures.
Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.3+ years of experience in accounts receivable, billing, or related financial role.Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP).Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in data entry and analysis.Experience with credit risk assessment and collections management preferred.Analytical mindset with the ability to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.
