📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Long Island City based Construction/HVAC client is looking to hire a Controller to their team. They are in the office full time/5 days a week so are seeking locally based candidates only.
Responsibilities:• Prepare and analyze quarterly internal consolidated and consolidating financial statements, including Work in Process (WIP) Schedules• Manage month-end closing schedule and oversee the preparation of all account reconciliations, preparation and review of journal entries in the GL• Drive month-end close schedule by overseeing and at times, preparing journal entries in the GL and owning particular tasks in that process while preparing and reviewing robust documentation and reconciliations• Lead various accounting transaction cycles, while focusing on improving the established processes through efficient process design and automation.• Assist with annual external audits by preparing schedules, documenting and explaining procedures, and providing requested information as needed.
Target Profile• Accounting/Finance Degree• 10+ years accounting experience• 4+ years experience as a Controller from the Construction industry – experience with project accounting, AIA, WIP etc.
