VP - Compliance, Trade Surveillance

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a seasoned professional to join a leading global alternative asset management firm as Vice President of Compliance, Trade Surveillance. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing the Trade Surveillance program and monitoring the firm's credit business. This role requires regular interaction with senior management and personnel across the organisation, offering an excellent platform for growth and development.What you'll do:

As Vice President - Compliance, Trade Surveillance, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity of our operations. Your primary responsibility will be executing the Trade Surveillance program and monitoring our credit business. You will be involved in identifying potential conflicts of interest and ensuring they are appropriately managed. Your expertise will be crucial in advising business groups on trading matters and coordinating with external partners to mitigate potential risks. This role offers an excellent opportunity to apply your skills in a dynamic environment where every day brings new challenges.Identify, escalate and manage conflicts of interests within the business.Carry out daily surveillance including reviews of trade allocations, investment guidelines, best execution and new issues.Assist with oversight and maintenance of various trade allocation procedures across the firm.Contribute to the implementation of the third-party trade surveillance platform.Run position checks to address various conflicts for constituents throughout the firm.Prepare responses to information requests from outside auditors or regulatory bodies.Advise business groups on trading matters, including affiliate considerations, material non-public information and cross trades.Coordinate with outside law firms, deal professionals, and other members of legal and compliance to identify and mitigate potential conflicts.

What you bring

The ideal candidate for the Vice President - Compliance, Trade Surveillance role is an experienced professional with strong knowledge of trade surveillance practices. You should have excellent organisational skills coupled with strong communication and negotiation abilities. Your project management experience will be crucial in delivering on various initiatives. Familiarity with fixed income financial instruments and markets is a must. You should be able to balance risk and compliance considerations with commercial outcomes, and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.At least 7 years of relevant work experience with a minimum of 5 years in trade surveillance or similar roles.Excellent organisational, communication and negotiation skills.Proven project management experience with a track record of delivering on initiatives.Familiarity with fixed income financial instruments and markets.Ability to take a pragmatic, commercial approach to risk and compliance while achieving desired outcomes.Capability to work independently as well as part of a team.
