Component Design Engineer

The Component Design Engineer will work primarily with the components within the control systems to design, produce, and test components and mechanical systems for Rolls-Royce products. In this role, the Design Engineer ensures the component definition meets project requirements from concept through to demonstration test.

Key Accountabilities

Create component requirements documents for owned hardware and hardware design concepts and perform trade studies to optimize hardwareSupport creation of detailed drawings and model-based definition and support project/manufacturing to procure conforming hardwareSupport engine and rig testing including assessment of test results and tested hardwareOrchestrate Technical Review/Design Review and communicate solutions with the project/customer: develop technical presentations and associated technical reports in the delivery of solutionsPerform component trade studies for new and existing hardware, create and review functional and physical interfaces, and generate analysis requirements for componentsProvide input for component level risks and complete DFMEA and risk assessments for owned components

Basic Requirements

Bachelors degree in Engineering with 2+ years of design experience OR;Masters degree in Engineering OR;JD/PhD EngineeringIn order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be a US Citizen or a Permanent Resident

Preferred Requirements

Experience using computer aided design tools such as Siemens NXFamiliarity with design processes and component testing
