SummaryResponsible for evaluating and making recommendations on new and existing credit facilities ensuring quality and soundness. Manages approval process ensuring compliance with Credit Policy and accuracy of documents and supporting exhibits. Works with Division Manager and prospects negotiating and communicating final deal structure and terms. All Underwriters support our focus on building strong client relationships balanced with a strong risk mitigating culture which firmly establishes those disciplines as critical to the success of our clients and company.

Duties & Responsibilities

Work closely with the various Business Development Officers in order to provide a “consultative/value-added” credit perspective, both prior to proposal issuance and at all times thereafter.Analyze and understand the prospective client’s historical and projected financial statements, cash flows, and current funding situation. Analyze debtor information in conjunction with Portfolio Manager to determine appropriate accounts receivable advance rate and eligibility. Identifying critical transactional and structural risks and proposing situation appropriate structuring alternatives which best protect our interest.Coordinating and analyzing field exams and background investigation reportsUnderwrite transaction, write credit memo, and present to Credit Committee in a clear and concise manner and provide well-reasoned recommendations. Documents the approved transaction negotiating terms and conditions with clients. Authenticates all post loan closing activities, including conditions precedent to closing, are accurate and complete.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or equivalent experience5+ years of experience in the Commercial Finance industry with an emphasis on Factoring and ABL as an Underwriter or other related positionAbility to interact with all levels of management, work within a team environment and work independently.Excellent technical and analytical skillsExcellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skillsExpert knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly ExcelStrong negotiation and presentation skillsStrong organizational and administrative skillsAbility to multi-taskCOMPENSATIONcompensation package.
