We are seeking a Senior Transportation PS&E Engineer in TX.

The successful candidate will serve as a Project Manager taking a leadership role in project plan production, quality assurance/quality control, team development and supervision, client management, profitable project management, and developing collaborative partnerships. The candidate will have a proven record of successful PS&E delivery for TxDOT and be able to contribute to the development and implementation of a business plan in coordination with RS&H local office and state leaders. The candidate will have the ability to learn internal RS&H processes for project management, financial budgeting/billing, business and contract transactions, negotiations with clients, and human resource activities.

Background : RS&H began providing PS&E services to TxDOT in the early 2000’s through an acquisition of a small Houston-based firm. For more than 20 years, RS&H has provided these services at a high level, while also diversifying and growing our offerings throughout Texas. Today, more than 200 RS&H associates throughout the Lone Star state continue to serve TxDOT and other clients as Prime in markets including Aviation, Construction Management, Federal, Defense, Aerospace, and the Private Sector. TxDOT continues to be one of our firm’s top clients, and we are doubling down on that commitment through the expansion of our firm’s core transportation design business, our largest service group in the company. With more than 1,400 associates across 70 offices in the country, our firm has been growing rapidly and our employee-ownership model has provided our associates the opportunity to thrive and take ownership of that success. Objectives

Technical Excellence: The successful candidate will place emphasis on delivering an industry-best product, foremost. We’re only as good as our last project, and our quality will be the reason our clients re-select RS&H. Client Experience: The successful candidate will listen first, be highly responsive, provide options, advise on difficult decisions, always act as a good faith partner, and deliver on client expectations and our promises. People Development: Build on existing S&E and PS&E staff, including mentoring of current associates and hiring in additional associates/teams. The successful candidate can expect to have creative control with staff decisions and value the time and effort it takes to develop associates/teams. Teamwork: Work cooperatively with other leaders in Texas and throughout the firm to form a cohesive production team. Business Success: Identifying TxDOT PS&E clients and pursuing potential opportunities in coordination with our firm’s strategic plan for Texas. Local Focus: Contribute to of an office-specific business plan that meets or exceeds financial goals for PS&E backlog. The successful candidate will also support their community and TxDOT transportation industry.

Requirements

ABET-accredited Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas Minimum 15 years of progressive leadership experience within the field of civil engineering/roadway/drainage/structures/traffic engineering studies Project management experience working directly with TxDOT, toll authorities, or other local transportation agencies Plans, Specifications and Estimate (PS&E) experience on complex transportation projects and administering contracts Strong supervisory skills leading multiple teams and people, and established client relationships/marketing and business development experience Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail along with overall quality control and management

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor or Master of Science in civil engineering degree, or other
