Running Tide is based in Portland, Maine but this position may be remote. EST preferred.
About youWe are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting combined with specific experience in manufacturing or production cost analysis, inventory management, and financial reporting. This role is vital in ensuring accurate financial data, optimizing production costs, and supporting decision-making processes.
ResponsibilitiesAssisting with preparing and monitoring budgets.Maintaining and reconciling balance sheet and general ledger accounts.Assisting with annual audit preparations.Investigating and resolving audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of noncompliance.Contributing to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures.Assisting with accounts payable and expense management.Work closely with the Controller to ensure month end close is completed timely.Assisting in the preparation financial reports for taxes, regulatory agencies, and stockholders.Assisting in cost accounting for carbon removal operations, including detailed inventory tracking and ensuring compliance with inventory controls.Maintain fixed assets, including various construction in progress projects across the company.
QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA a plus.7+ years of experience in accounting roles within manufacturing or production environmentsStrong understanding of cost accounting principles, inventory management, and manufacturing processes.Experience with NetSuite ERP system preferred.Advanced skills in Excel for financial analysis and reporting.Excellent analytical abilities with attention to detail.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.Problem-solving mindset and ability to handle complex financial scenarios.
