📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Summary
We are seeking a self-motivated Automation Engineer with a robust technical background in process control and automation design to work with a leading food manufacturer in the Houston area. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience and a proven track record in engineering development, technical management, project coordination, and full-cycle project management. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining all aspects of the automation equipment in our canning facility, overseeing new machine installations, conducting troubleshooting, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing solutions. You will also lead initiatives to enhance manufacturing cost-effectiveness and present projects to upper management for approval, ensuring efficient operation across all automation and process engineering areas.
Technical Skills:Proficient in troubleshooting control system issuesExperience in programming with Allen Bradley’s RSLogix/Studio 5000Familiarity with Allen Bradley’s FactoryTalkCompetent in Design/Drafting using AutoCADProficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) and general computer literacyStrong written and oral communication skillsAbility to work effectively in a team environment with a positive attitudeCreative problem-solving abilities with a focus on results and attention to detailEffective prioritization, multitasking, and deadline management skillsInnovative and dedicated approach to problem-solving
Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field10 or more years of directly related experience in the manufacturing environmentBilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is advantageous
