Water Resource Engineer
📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Russell Tobin has an immediate need for a Water Resource Engineer in Anaheim, CA! This is a long term contract position!
Shift: 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Compensation: $63.83/hr.
Job Description: Review and investigate historic drawings, documentation, on-site, and internal knowledge to confirm and optimize the construction and operation of waterway systems Perform field work to investigate and assess utilities infrastructure and gather data Provide engineering and technical direction to engineering consultants to support the preparation of civil studies, reports, plans, specifications, and construction drawingsReview hydrologic and hydraulic engineering studies as Owner’s Representative and provide recommendations for future projects Develop concept designs and RFPs (Request for Proposals) Review contract documents and calculations for lift stations, weir systems, and pipelinesDevelop equipment and construction specifications Attend, participate in, and problem solve during site visits from concept through construction Independently review calculations, drawings, and specifications and ensure that all projects are designed and executed to applicable codes and standards, with focus on constructability, efficiency, and long-term maintainability Resolve design issues creatively and thoroughly coordinating design with other disciplines Provide guidance and concise decision matrices to support executive decisions Partner with internal teams to develop, maintain, communicate, and enforce client design guidelines, standards, master specifications, and details Liaison with City officials and external agencies to ensure project scope and implementation is coordinated and compliant with external requirementsOccasionally perform as Engineer of Record, including signing and sealing construction documents as needed
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in municipal, consulting, or related field• Background in hydrology and hydraulics (open-channel flow, pipelines, flood mitigation)• Experience with modeling, design, and construction of underground utility systems, weirs, and pumps or ability to analyze modeling results• AutoCAD (Civil 3D), Revit, Adobe Acrobat, or Bluebeam Revu• Effective communication skills (verbal and written) with clients, consultants, contractors, Resort stakeholders, and management• Strong analytical skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues• Working knowledge of standards and codes applicable to civil utility systems• Experience with creating and updating features in GIS (Esri ArcGIS)• Experience with HEC-RAS, InfoWater or similar modeling software• Current registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of California• BS Civil Engineering or related field
