Surgical PA / First Assist
Position Summary
To carry out the functions that will assist the surgeon in performing a safe operation with optimal results for the patient,
The Surgical PA /First Assist practices with a license and is therefore responsible for independent behaviors of peri-operative assessment and post-operative evaluation of care,
The intra-operative practice of the PA is under direction of the surgeon,
Ensuring the delivery of safe and quality patient care,
Perform, adapt and safely demonstrate procedures required by patients according to policies and procedures,
Administers medications accurately and safely,

Minimum Qualifications And Requirements
Active, valid NJ PA License
BLS from the American Heart Association required,
One year Surgical first assisting preferred
GENERAL INFORMATION
Preceptor pay - dependent on experience
Night shift call, weekends, and holidays on call is required
