Staff Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join their team. As the Staff Accountant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of all accounting transactions. Your responsibilities will involve performing a wide range of complex and confidential duties, requiring a deep understanding of our organization's policies and procedures, as well as generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and other compliance areas.

Responsibilities:Prepare, verify, and post standard journal entries into the general ledger.Process and review balance sheet account reconciliations.Handle vendor payments and invoice processing, ensuring accuracy and adherence to contracts.Review and post invoices, verifying source documents for accuracy, completeness, authorization, and coding.Maintain and update vendor records, and oversee the annual 1099 statements reconciliation.Coordinate, review, and approve employee expenses, ensuring compliance with expense report controls.Process, monitor, and reconcile credit card payments.Handle billing for various services, including tissue, organ, research, and grants.Participate in the collection process and ensure timely collections.Complete, post, and reconcile monthly investment summaries.Review and reconcile accounts receivable.Lead the timely and accurate month-end close process.Create, post, and review monthly accruals.Update and maintain the end of the month (EOM) checklist.Update, post, and reconcile fixed assets worksheet, lease, and prepaid schedules.Conduct account analysis as needed.Post cash receipts and process desktop deposits.Contribute to various financial projects as assigned.Monitor compliance with financial policies and procedures and conduct research or investigations as necessary.Assist with year-end closings and preparation for the audit process.Identify areas of improvement within the accounting processes.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent education/work experience.1 - 4 years of experience as a Staff Accountant or in a related position, involving multiple essential job functions.Proficiency in computerized accounting and spreadsheets.Strong understanding of GAAP, financial statements, and operational reporting.Advanced skills in Excel, experience with Intacct, Concur, and Bill.com a plus.Exceptional organizational, analytical, interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.A proactive team player who embodies the organization's core values.Prior experience within the healthcare industry preferred.
