SAIC is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the US Navy in Crane, IN.
JOB DESCRITION
Candidate will be supporting AN/SLQ-32(V)7 through all phases of product life cycle, including requirements development, design, development, data package creation and validation, test & evaluation, production, acquisition, and sustainment.
Job Responsibilities
Develops static and dynamic design and analysis of mechanical systems, equipment, and packages. Conducts feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs. Directs support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication. Provides design information to drafting for packaging documentation.Should possess a complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the field. General knowledge of other related disciplines. Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, practicable and consistent with organization objectives.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and two (2) years or more experience; Master’s in Mechanical Engineering and zero (0) years or more experience. May require travel to support planning meetings, reviews, etc. (IWS 2E in Washington, DC; and supporting Contractor facility locations; etc.). Willing to work in office, lab, and shipyard environments. Must be an effective written and verbal communicator and have strong technical writing skills.Interim Secret clearance required to start with the ability to obtain a full secret clearance. SAIC will sponsor the clearance process.
Desired Experience
Model-Based Engineering (MBE) / Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience desired.
