Overview

Job Title: Loss Prevention Technology Specialist

Essential Function This position will be responsible for coordinating and maintaining physical security programs for the field and support center. The position will be highly collaborative and influential with the Loss Prevention field team and other key internal/external partners to develop plans to address needs related to physical security, loss control and technology solutions. This position will also work closely with the Loss Prevention Leadership to identify technology and vendor partnerships that improve capabilities and support efforts to achieve company goals, objectives, and profitability. Light travel will be required, as needed.

Primary Duties

25% Maintain strategies and projects for CCTV, Cash & GPS Trackers, alarm systems, (including monitoring services), and other equipment as needed. Identify innovative solutions that provide the ability to monitor field locations, safety for employees, detect, alert, and protect the company from loss.

20% Identify, recommend, and implement programs, procedures, and equipment to ensure loss control and loss detection methods are effective. Regularly meet with vendor partners to review services, program procedures and protocols to ensure that they are meeting performance levels and remain alignment with business needs.

15% Conducts training on LP technology to ensure users are knowledgeable on the use of the various equipment. Respond to user questions timely and provide support to troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues (vendor/I.T. collaboration where applicable).

20% Applies knowledge and understanding of operational areas to identify actual or potential occurrences of safety and shrink loss. Partners with other Loss Prevention personnel to review and evaluate reporting related to LP Technology, physical security, shrink or other loss and provide insights regarding technology options that can assist in addressing any identified gaps or opportunities.

20% Reviews reporting provided by vendor partners, (ex. invoices, contact activity, monitoring services, KPI, other reporting, etc.) to confirm that the information aligns with service agreements. Provide updates to Loss Prevention Leadership on discrepancies, project delays or other matters that impact LP technology usage and/or program execution.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

College degree preferred or equivalent work experience 5+ years’ experience in Loss Prevention Skilled knowledge of closed-circuit television (CCTV) technology, including video capture and analytic interpretation of data, various alarm systems, other prevention technology, Microsoft Office Suite

Competencies / Attributes

Excellent communication skills, able to write and verbally communicate in a clear and concise manner. Ability to influence outcomes. Knowledge of installation of Closed-Circuit Television equipment, electronic monitoring, video retrieval, and other prevention technology. Skilled knowledge of asset tracking devices. Ability to travel, as required. International travel may be possible and possession of a valid passport or ability to secure a valid passport if needed.

Working Conditions /Physical Requirements

The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, retail stores, and residences or commercial vehicles, e.g., use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, observance of fire regulations and traffic signals, etc. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, books, small parts; using a keyboard, driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
