Your Impact at SAM

As a Survey Crew Chief, you will be responsible for overseeing and conducting site control, ALTA, Boundary, Topography, and Construction Staking Surveys. This role has a strong focus in the commercial, utilities, transportation, and renewables industries and involves collecting accurate spatial data. You will oversee the daily field operations of a land survey crew, communicate with Project Surveyor's and Project Managers regarding projects schedule and work progress.

Determine most efficient plan of action for data acquisition for field surveys ranging from primary control through construction layout and as-built surveys, as neededProficient with documentation of work performed and sketchesInteract professionally with client representative and land ownersRead and interpret construction drawings/specifications and understand all aspects of the land survey project specifications and tolerancesPrepare daily reports, time sheets, and other required paperworkMaintain land surveying vehicle and field equipmentOther duties as assigned

What You Bring to SAM

5+ years of industry experience, prior crew chief experience is preferred Competent operating total stations, GNSS receivers, data collectors, and tablet PCsExperience with Trimble equipment is preferred Strong computer and technical skillsStrong communication skills (listening, writing and verbal)Proven work history, strong work ethic, and team-player attitudeAbility to travel for extended periodsAbility to work in all-weather climates Ability to walk long distances through a variety of terrains and carry up to 80lbsValid driver's license, clean background check and drug screening
