📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Our client, a rapidly growing consumer packaged goods (CPG) company located near LA is seeking a Financial Controller to join their team. This is a newly created role reporting to the CFO and is open due to growth. This individual will play a pivotal role in leading the accounting function and driving financial strategies to support the company's continued success. The position is fully remote with limited travel to CA.
Responsibilities:Participate in the month-end close cycle by executing and coordinating activities to produce timely financial statements, analyses, and reconciliations.Manage financial reporting and compliance activities, adhering to regulatory requirements.Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure liquidity and support operational needs.Oversees day-to-day Treasury operations, including short-term and long-term cash requirements management and bank reporting requirements.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement financial strategies aligned with business objectives.Enhance internal controls to mitigate risks and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.Provide financial insights and analysis to support decision-making at all levels of the organization.Identify opportunities for process improvements to streamline operations and increase efficiency within the accounting function.Install trade management process and gross to net tracking & compliance.Lead and project manage External Audit.Directly manage all tax and registration compliance, including shareholder reportingPartner closely with FP&A team to develop insights and improvements to business performance.Lead process improvement efforts in trade management, spend controls and SG&A variance analysis.Prepare the company for ERP transition.
Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required. CPA preferred.7 + years of accounting experience, including management. Some public accounting experience is preferred.Experience in CPG/manufacturing.Understand trade management (deductions, etc.) Proficient with technology and new systemsProficient using excel and various data sets
Preferred: Based in Chicagoland or California
