This is a full time position, generally Monday through Friday. Must be flexible to travel to all five sites (Oceanside, Torrey Pines, Rancho Bernardo, Encinitas and Hillcrest).

As part of the Scripps Health pharmacy team, pharmacists and pharmacy technicians provide a broad range of clinical services at our sites and work collaboratively with physicians, nurses and other health care team members to deliver high-quality, efficient services to patients and staff. They enjoy a practice environment that offers state-of-the-art technology and innovative tools in a collaborative and supportive workplace. The Pharmacy Buyer will support all five infusion centers.

Responsibilities Include

Procurement, receiving and inventory control of pharmaceuticals;Processing purchase orders and invoices;Maintaining contract files and for compliance with contracts; Respond to pharmaceutical recalls.Alert the Director of Pharmacy of changes in buying trends, including unusual use of drugs and use of new costly drugs.Capable of fully functioning under the Pharmacy Technician job description.Facilitates teamwork and good interdepartmental relationships. Collaborates with other health care disciplines and supports the needs of patients and families.Maintains confidentiality of patient, staff, department and hospital information.Participates in continuous quality improvement.Performs other related functions as assigned.Responsible for performing basic pharmacy technician duties.Works under the supervision of registered pharmacists.

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills

High school diploma or equivalent.

Required Certification/Registration

California Board of Pharmacy Certification.

Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification

Certification by a National Pharmacy Technician Certification Board.Purchasing experienceExperience with analytics Minimum skills in word processing and spreadsheet software ability to use drug wholesaler online software.

Position Pay Range: $25.59-$38.39/hour
