Program Specialist -- Film

Our Program Specialist - Film plays a pivotal role in supporting the instructional film department by providing organizational assistance, facilitating film-related activities, and working closely with young adults aged 18-24. The ideal candidate possesses a degree in film or equivalent industry knowledge, exemplary organizational skills, and the ability to adapt to a flexible schedule. Additionally, the candidate must be capable of handling grant reporting responsibilities.

Responsibilities:Organizational Support – Assist in organizing and maintaining film equipment, props, and other resources necessary for instructional film projects.Facilitation of Film Activities – Collaborate with instructional film staff to facilitate film-related workshops, projects, and activities for young adults aged 18-24.Technical Assistance – Provide technical support during filming sessions, including setting up equipment, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring a smooth production process.Instructional Support – Assist in delivering instructional content related to film production techniques, equipment operation, and industry standards to young adult participants.Engagement – Foster a positive and supportive environment for young adult participants by offering guidance, feedback, and encouragement throughout the filmmaking process.Administrative Tasks – Assist with administrative tasks such as maintaining attendance records, coordinating schedules, and communicating with participants and stakeholders as needed.Collaboration – Work collaboratively with instructional film staff, program coordinators, and other stakeholders to ensure the success of film-related initiatives and projects.

Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Film Studies, Media Production or a related field preferred.Equivalent industry experience and knowledge may be considered in lieu of a degree.Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to work effectively with young adults aged 18-24 in a mentoring or instructional capacity.Flexible schedule, including availability for evening and weekend sessions as needed.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Proficiency with film production equipment and software preferred.Computer literacy with Microsoft Office and ability to adapt to other SEAT Center systems software.The successful candidate must have a current and valid NYS driver’s license
