Clinical Supervisor

Location:Secure Base Counseling Center (SBCC) offices are located in Northfield, New Prague, and Farmington Minnesota. Preference would be given to a clinician who can provide in-person supervision and therapy in the Northfield office. Some telehealth work may also be provided based on the needs of supervisees and clients.

Purpose of the Position: Clinical supervisors are leaders at Secure Base Counseling Center (SBCC) who offer supervision to clinical trainees and practicum students who are working to become independent licensed therapists themselves or complete their master’s program. The supervisor offers support and nurtures the growth of each individual trainee so that they can reach their full potential as mental health professionals. Clinical supervisors serve their trainees by providing consistent compassionate supervision, by creating a psychologically safe environment for them to grow as clinicians, by holding them accountable for all aspects of the work, and by approving their documentation in a timely manner as per company policy and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications of the Position:Supervisors are licensed mental health professionals in good standing with their board without restrictions for at least one year while having performed at least 1,000 hours of clinical practice.Be approved, certified or in some other manner recognized as a qualified clinical supervisor by the person's professional licensing board. Supervisors must obtain at least the minimum requirements by their board for annual Continuing Education Units (CEU), both for licensure and to maintain their certification as a clinical supervisor. They maintain a client-centered approach and contribute to a multidisciplinary team in a manner that is consistent with the philosophy and mission at SBCC. They work collaboratively with all staff to meet the needs of SBCC and its clients. They are competent as demonstrated by experience and graduate-level training in the area of practice and the activities being supervised.They may not be the supervisee's blood or legal relative or cohabitant, or someone who has acted as the supervisee's therapist within the past two years.They have experience and skills that are informed by advanced training, years of experience and mastery of a range of competencies that demonstrate the following:a. Capacity to provide services that incorporate best practiceb. Ability to recognize and evaluate competencies in superviseesc. Ability to review assessments and treatment plans for accuracy and appropriatenessd. Ability to give clear direction to mental health staff related to alternative strategies when a recipient is struggling with moving towards recoverye. Ability to coach, teach and practice skills with supervisees

Responsibilities of the Position:Provide face-to-face supervision time and clinical supervision to unlicensed staff.All clinical supervisors at SBCC provide direct client care by maintaining a caseload of their own clients.Note: although it is greatly preferred that the supervisor sees SBCC clients they may maintain a caseload outside of SBCC. Support Company CulturePromote cultural competency Ensure that each supervisee receives the guidance and support needed to provide treatment services in areas where the supervisee practicesDevelop a treatment supervision plan for each supervisee.Accept full professional liability for a supervisee's direction of a client's mental health services.Instruct a supervisee in the supervisee's work, and oversee the quality and outcome of the supervisee's work with clients.Maintain accurate availability on the company's electronic health records system.Other responsibilities will be assigned as needed.

Compensation and Benefits:Supervisors are W2 employees and are paid every two weeks. Checks are issued through ADP by direct deposit into the employee's account of choosing. Supervisors are paid based on experience and time at SBCC. All supervisor positions are salaried and considered exempt.
