📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities

The Grants Manager oversees the grant process from early identification to award, including, but not limited to: prospecting new funding opportunities, cultivating relationships with current grant funders, writing compelling grant applications and ensuring all reporting deadlines are met. Authors compelling narratives in effort to gain both public and private grants. Works under pressure with multiple deadlines and collaborates across diverse teams. Completes grant applications and associate materials. Coordinates with Chief Operating Officer, Director of Programs and Director of Quality to maintain procedural compliance on all grants. Provides assistance and guidance in preparing end of year reports and financial narrative, participates on site visits and maintains calendar for grant and proposal reporting.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3 years’ experience in grant management and research• Knowledge of Microsoft Suite• Valid Texas Driver License with acceptable MVR and background check• Bachelor’s Degree in English, Communications, Nonprofit Management or relevant field preferred• Grant software experience preferred

Typical Duties

  • Researches current funding trends, requirements and eligibility criteria.• Explores and identifies private, corporate, government and any related foundation funding opportunities.• Maintains database in Monday.com; monitors and analyzes all information associated with applications, reports and leads (i.e. pending, received and denied).• Manages end-to-end grant application process, including timely submission of all required documents and supporting materials.• Maintains confidential information related to grants, donors and funders.• Prepares and disseminates information about the agency and funding opportunities to prospective partners.• Stays informed about RFP’s issued from city, county, state and federal government agencies pertaining to the work of the agency.• Monitors all grant reporting requirements ensuring reports are completed and submitted by established deadlines.• Works closely with the Finance and Program teams to gather necessary financial information for budget development, as well as relevant program data.• Authors compelling narratives tying the mission of the agency with the priorities of each respective funder.• Attends various program team meetings to remain current on program developments for the purposes of writing accurate proposals.• Maintains grant tracking system, including deadlines, submission status and outcomes ensuring data accuracy and organization.• Adheres to industry best practices, changes in grant regulations and emerging funding opportunities.• Performs other duties, tasks and special projects as assigned.
