We are currently searching for a talented Civil Engineer III to join and grow with our Civil team!

Your options as a civil engineer are endless at SEH. You’ll engineer better communities -- complete streets, safer sidewalks, more sustainable utilities, and trails and parks. Others specialize in large-scale projects, like flood control facilities, dams, landfills, harbors/marinas, structural retaining walls and larger geotechnical projects. Regardless of the project, you’ll have your hands in the mix through all phases of a project: planning, pre-design, design, contract documentation, bidding and construction. Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineeringMinimum of two (2) years previous experience in civil engineering with a focus on a variety of municipal projectsRegistered as a Professional EngineerWorking knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS, MicroStation and proficiency with Microsoft Office ApplicationsThis role is open to candidates currently residing within 50 miles of Des Moines, IA or candidates willing to relocate to that area

Preferred Qualifications

Registered Professional Engineer in the state of IowaA minimum of four (4) years of experience would be preferred for this rolePrevious experience serving as a design engineer or project manager for multiple city infrastructure projectsAbility to develop new business opportunities and win project workPrevious project management, design and construction administration experience of Civil/Municipal projects including site improvements, streets, drainage and utilitiesExperience in preparing project plans, specifications and bidding documentsPrevious experience in project proposal preparation and client service managementPrevious experience leading a staff of engineering professionalsAbility to coach and mentor junior level technical staff and Graduate Engineers
